"25. STORAGE OF PARCELS

25.1 Charges
Parcels traffic not delivered within the periods indicated shall be charged storage as follows:

25.2 Disposal
Parcels not claimed within six months may be sold.

"26. FRESH FRUIT, FRESH VEGETABLES, FRESH MUSHROOMS, AND NUTS

26.1 Definition of vegetables
Artichokes, beetroot, carrots, garlic, kumeras, marrows, melons, onions, parsnips, potatoes, sweet
corn on cobs, and turnips are deemed to be fresh vegetables and shall be charged accordingly.

26.2 Charges
Fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, fresh mushrooms and nuts grown and packed in New Zealand
(including Cook Islands and Niue), for the domestic use of the consignee, shall be charged at
half parcel rates. (Minimum charge $2.50 per parcel, except as specified in clauses 26.2.1 and
26.2.2).

26.2.1 Suitcases: Fresh fruit, vegetables, mushrooms or nuts in suitcases or similar containers
are not considered “packed” in accordance with trade usage and shall be charged at parcels rates.

26.2.2 Adequacy of packaging: Fresh fruit, tomatoes and mushrooms packed in used cardboard
boxes or in paper or plastic parcels shall be charged at parcels rates.

26.3 Domestic use of consignee
The clause 26.3 charges shall be applicable only to fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, fresh mushrooms,
and nuts forwarded for the domestic use of the consignee, and shall not apply to fresh fruit,
fresh vegetables, fresh mushrooms, and nuts forwarded for sale or to be used or dealt with by
the consignee for any purpose other than the mentioned. In every case the consignor shall endorse
the following on the parcel near or on the address label; “certified for domestic use of consignee
only”.

26.4 Carriage on passenger service
The Corporation reserves the right to decline to carry fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, fresh mush-
rooms, and nuts at clause 26.2 rates on any passenger service.

"27. LIBRARY BOOKS

27.1 Charges
Books for exchange forwarded between subscribers and recognised circulating libraries shall be
carried at half parcels rates, with a minimum charge of $1.10 per package, subject to the following
conditions:

27.1.1 Identification of sender: The sender’s name must be shown on each parcel.

27.1.2 Declaration: A declaration must be given on the parcel near or on the address label that
the package contains books or other articles specially authorised by the General Manager of the
Corporation.

27.2 Other cases
The provisions for library books shall be applicable in other cases where authorised by the
General Manager of the Corporation.

27.3 Delivery
Library books consigned under the provisions in clause 27 will not be delivered by the Cor-
poration under the terms specified in clauses 24.4. and 24.4.1.
