Resumption of Duties by the Governor-General
His Excellency the the Governor-General announces that he returned from Fiji at 7.55
p.m. on Sunday, 4 August and has resumed the performance of all the functions of the
office of Governor-General.
Accordingly, the Right Honourable Sir Ronald Keith Davison, G.B.E., C.M.G., Chief Justice
of New Zealand, who assumed office as the Administrator of the Government as from
9.55 a.m. on the 25th day of July 1985 (as evidenced by a notice published in the
Gazette* and dated the 25th day of July 1985), has relinquished office as the Administrator
of the Government. (By Command).
Dated at Wellington this 5th day of August 1985.
