9. COOK STRAIT SEARAIL PASSENGER SERVICES

9.1 Tickets

Tickets may be purchased for passenger travel on the Cook Strait Searail service between Wellington and Picton from a Corporation booking office or from an authorised booking agency. Bookings may be made in any calendar month for travel during the subsequent six calendar months.

9.2 Fares and Conditions

Tickets which entitle the holders to travel on specific sailings of the Cook Strait Searail service shall be issued at the following fares:

9.2.1 Fares—Standard and Concession:

Super Group Saver (Children 4–14 years at half these fares)

6–10 people 20.00
11–20 people 18.00
21+ people 17.00

Welfare beneficiaries and blind persons
(see clause 9.2.5)

‘Super Six’ travel vouchers (see clause 9.3.1)

Children—Children under 4 years of age in the charge of a responsible person travel FREE

9.2.2 Day excursion conditions:

Day excursion tickets, available for return travel on the Cook Strait Searail service between Wellington and Picton on the day of issue only, shall be issued only at the Corporation’s Wellington and Picton wharf terminal booking offices.

9.2.3 Group Saver:

Available to parties exceeding 10 persons on the same sailing. Children count as a full member when calculating group size. Tickets are not available from wharf terminals.

9.2.4 Super Group Saver:

Available to groups exceeding 6 persons on the same sailing who also undertake a rail journey exceeding 100 km in conjunction with the Searail journey. Children count as a half when calculating group size. Tickets are not available from the wharf terminals. Not available December, January or Easter (Wednesday to Tuesday).

9.2.5 Welfare beneficiaries and blind persons:

Single and Day excursion Cook Strait Searail tickets shall be issued at the following concessions, and subject to the same terms and conditions as for tickets issued at full fare, to welfare beneficiaries, blind persons and attendants who are normally entitled to travel at a concession fare as provided in clause 2.10.
