PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board
of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice
    Wanganui 1985, No. 5

  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby
    revoked.

  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby
    released from Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

PURSUANT to sections 24 and 30 of the New Zealand Railways
Corporation Act 1981 and section 52 of the Public Works Act 1981,
the General Manager of the New Zealand Railways Corporation
with the prior written consent of the Minister of Railways hereby
declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby
set apart, subject to the Housing Act 1955, for State housing
purposes.

Declaring an Easement in Gross to be Acquired for Railway Purposes at Picton

PURSUANT to sections 24 and 30 of the New Zealand Railways
Corporation Act 1981 and section 50 of the Public Works Act 1981,
the General Manager of the New Zealand Railways Corporation
hereby declares that an easement in gross, as described in the First
Schedule hereto through the land described in the Second Schedule
hereto is hereby acquired for and on behalf of her Majesty the Queen
for railway purposes.

FIRST SCHEDULE

THE New Zealand Railways Corporation hereby acquires for and
on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen an easement for its servants,
agents and workmen as and in the nature of an easement in gross
the full, free and unrestricted right, liberty and licence to lay railway
lines on and over the land described in the Second Schedule hereto
and to operate free of cost railway traffic over and along such railway
lines and to maintain, repair and replace the said railway lines
as may from time to time be necessary together with the further
right for the New Zealand Railways Corporation, its servants, agents
and workmen to enter over and on the land described in the Second
Schedule for the purpose of carrying out such maintenance, repair
and replacement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT—PICTON BOROUGH
