✨ Import Licence Tender Results

2770 THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE No. 125

General Notes

Round 22 of import licence tendering included tenders under the industry development plan for tyres and tubes; salt, as part of the general tenders of global licence and the re-tender of the 15 percent of basic licence first tendered in May 1982. The value of basic licence tendered was increased by 25 percent to allow for the July 1984 devaluation and by 5 percent in line with the Import Licence Schedule increase in allocation. Some of the products previously tendered, however, have been transferred to tenders let under various industry development plan tenders. For instance, certain items of apparel and rubber goods have been extracted.

Item Code 46.005 tendered under No. 2892 was included in certain exemptions which come into effect as from 1 July 1985. For that reason the bids made are not binding.

Item Code 97.055 in tender No. 2956 was altered in the Import Licence Schedule after the issue of the tender. For that reason it was withdrawn from this round and was re-advertised in Round 24.

Residual Licence

WHERE not all licence available was bid for, the results show the number of units left over. The results also show the weighted average premium in rounded dollars at which these licences are available. These residual licences are available on request. Application forms have from time to time been posted to all on the Register of Tenderers and forms may also be obtained from any office of the Department of Trade and Industry.

Applications for residual licence in terms of paragraph 39 of the Guide to Global Import Licence Tendering close on 00 July 1985 at 5 p.m. All such applications must reach the Registrar of Tenders, P.O. Box 3146, Wellington by that time and date. Envelopes should be marked "Round 22 Residual" on the bottom right hand corner.

Results will be notified as soon as possible by letter. Payment should not be made until invoices are received. Payment should preferably be by bank cheque to avoid the 15 working day delay in the clearance of other cheques. Licences still left over after this allocation of residuals will be available on request but will not qualify for continuity. Please refer to paragraphs 38 to 44 inclusive in the Guide Notes.

ROUND 22: CALL FOR TENDERS WHICH CLOSED 22 APRIL 1985

TYRE AND TUBE INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT PLAN

This is the fifth allocation of licence under this plan. No single group of companies is allowed to win more than the specified maximum number of units a tenderer may bid for as advertised under each tender for tubes and tyres. A group of companies is regarded as those companies associated by a 25 percent or more direct or indirect common investment. Licence will be withheld entirely from any group of companies going beyond this limit.

Tender No. Item Code Tariff Items Goods: Brief Description No. of Units Licence Units Size $ No. of Units a Tenderer May Bid For
2849 Ex 40.036 Ex 40.11.041 Steel cord or steel belted radial truck tyres 20 inch and over and tubes in sets 25 100,000 18
2850 Ex 40.036 Ex 40.11.041 Steel radial passenger car tyres 12 100,000 9

2852 Ex 40.036 Ex 40.11.041 Rubber tubes for motor vehicles 16 50,000 12

It should be noted that the format of the tender is in line with previous tender to retain comparisons. The licence unit size is as shown and is not in $2,000 lots. Bid form T&I 335C should be used as for other tenders. A full year's allocation of licence is offered for tender rather than two separate 6-monthly tenders.

SALT

The following tender was too late to be included in Round 19 global licence tenders.

The licence offered for tender here will be valid therefore for a year from the time when invoices are prepared after the results of this tender have been determined.
