Import Licence Tendering—Call for Tenders: Round 15

PURSUANT to the Import Control Regulations 1973 (S.R. 1980/246), the Secretary of Trade and Industry, acting under delegated authority is calling tenders for the goods specified below. These goods constitute Round 15 and comprise the 5th Allocation of Apparel (Textile and Plastic) under the Textile Industry Development Plan and the 3rd Allocation of Tyres and Tubes. Under the Textile Industry Development Plan new combined categories of goods have been created for mens and womens sweatshirts, womens blouses, and womens shirts.

Licences obtained in this round are not valid until 1 July 1984 and are valid thereafter for 12 months expiring on 30 June 1985. Under normal policy import licences will not be extended beyond the expiry date of the licence and tenderers are reminded that goods must be imported within the period for which they have been issued. Failure to do this could involve legal action being taken for goods imported in breach of the Import Control Regulations.

Results of tendering are expected to be published in May but invoices will not be payable until 1 July 1984 and payment must be made within six months thereafter.

TENDERS CLOSE ON 7 MAY 1984 AT 5 p.m. AND MUST BE WITH THE REGISTRAR OF TENDERS, P.O. BOX 3146, WELLINGTON BY THEN TO BE VALID.

NOTE:

  1. Tenderers should refer to the Customs Tariff and the Import Licensing Schedule for a definite description of the goods included in the list following.
  2. Tenderers should be conversant with the various statutes and regulations which importing enterprises are obliged to comply with, such as the Food and Drug Regulations 1973, Safety Standards, Duties and Sales Tax, etc., where relevant.
  3. Successful tenderers under the Apparel Tendering Scheme are required to provide details of how their tender licence(s) have been used at the time of importation. Forms for this purpose will be sent to successful tenderers when licences are formally issued. The completed information should be sent to the Executive Officer, Textiles 1, Industries Division, Department of Trade and Industry, Private Bag, Wellington. Failure to provide this information is likely to result in the tenderer being barred from further participation in the scheme.
  4. Tenderers are reminded to use a separate tender form for each tender number. Bids may be sent in one envelope. The envelope should be marked Import Licence Tender.
