Appointment of Member of the Otago Catchment Board

As the combined district of Oamaru Borough and Waitaki County, a constituent of the Otago Catchment Board, failed to elect a representative to that Board, His Excellency the Governor-General acting pursuant to section 51 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 hereby appoints

William James Lindsay Simpson, retired, of Kakanui

to be a member of the Otago Catchment Board and to hold office in all respects as if he had been duly elected in conformity with the Act.

Appointment of a Member of the Westland Catchment Board

DAVID BEATTIE, Governor-General

As the Greymouth Borough, a constituent district of the Westland Catchment Board, failed to elect a representative to that Board, His Excellency the Governor-General acting pursuant to section 51 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 hereby appoints

Frederick William Holmes, retired publican of Greymouth

to be a member of the Westland Catchment Board and to hold office in all respects as if he had been duly elected in conformity with the Act.

as non-elective member of the Rangitikei-Wanganui Catchment Board for a period of up to 3 years from the date of this appointment.

Brian Hanauru Jones of Taupo, company secretary, after consultation by the Minister with the Ministry of Maori Affairs, to represent the interests of the Maori people in relation to natural water;

Peter Colin Macnab of Blenheim, solicitor, after consultation by the Minister with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to represent wildlife interests in relation to natural water;

Robert Dugald McKenzie of Invercargill, retired, after consultation by the Minister with the New Zealand Catchment Authorities Association Incorporated;

David William Dudding of Ngatea, farmer, after consultation by the Minister with the New Zealand Land Drainage and River Boards Association Incorporated;

Ernest Arthur James Holdaway of Northcote, retired, after consultation by the Minister with the National Parks and Reserves Authority, the Nature Conservation Council, the Minister of Internal Affairs, and the Minister for the Environment, to represent scenic and recreational interests in relation to natural water;

Alan McCready of Levin, farmer, after consultation by the Minister with the Ministry of Fisheries, to represent fisheries interests,

to be members of the National Water and Soil Conservation Authority from the date of this appointment for a term of 3 years.

Appointing a Member and His Deputy to the Engineering Associates Registration Board

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Engineering Associates Act 1961, and section 25 (j) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1924, the Minister of Works and Development hereby appoints:

Herbert James Macneil, engineer of Lower Hutt as member; and

Thomas George Adson, engineer of Lower Hutt, as Mr Macneil’s deputy

on the nomination of the New Zealand Hospital Engineers Association (Inc.) to be a member and deputy member of the Engineering Associates Registration Board for a period being the residue of his predecessor’s term, commencing from the date of this warrant until 9 March 1985.
