Manukau City Boundaries Definition Notice 1983

PURSUANT to section 48 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Secretary for Local Government gives the following notice:

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Manukau City Boundaries Definition Notice 1983.

2. The boundaries of Manukau City are hereby defined as set out in the Schedule hereto following the inclusion in the City of an area of reclaimed land by notice signed by the Minister of Local Government on 26 January 1983 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 17 February 1983, No. 18, page 406.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF MANUKAU CITY

All that area in the North Auckland Land District containing 56,572 hectares, bounded by a line commencing at the easternmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 12729, on the seacoast of the Firth of Thames in Block III, Orere Survey District, and proceeding westerly along the northern, western, and southern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 12729, to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 42113; thence southerly generally along the generally western boundaries of that Lot 1 to its southernmost corner in Block IV, Orere Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Wharekawa 4C3D Block to the southernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 43094, in Block XIV, Wairoa Survey District; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Tapapakanga 1B Block, to its southernmost corner; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments 94, part Allotments 95, E75 and the intervening Allotment 155, Otahu Parish, to the westernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 61276; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of part Kiripaka Block shown on D.P. 2712, crossing the intervening Allotment 168, to and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of that part Kiripaka Block to its northernmost corner; thence northerly, north-westerly and south-westerly along the eastern, north-eastern and north-western boundaries of that part of Kiripaka Block shown on D.P. 1918A, to its junction with the northern boundary of that Allotment 168; thence south-westerly generally along the generally north-western boundaries of that Allotment 168 to the northernmost corner of Allotment 74A in Block XIII, Wairoa Survey District;

Thence southerly generally along the generally western boundaries of Allotments 169, 167, and 158 to the southernmost corner of Allotment 88; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Allotment 89, to its westernmost corner, all the aforesaid allotments being of Otahu Parish; thence westerly generally along the generally southern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 33851 and that boundary produced to the middle of the Wairoa River in Block XII, Wairoa Survey District; thence down the middle of that river to a point in line with the northern boundary of Allotment 112A, Hunua Parish; thence westerly along a right line to and along the northern boundaries of that Allotment 112A, Lot 3 and Lot 1, D.P. 78762 and the last boundary produced to the middle of Highridge Road; thence south-westerly generally along the middle of that road, to and along the middle of McGregor Road, to and westerly generally along the middle of the road shown on S.O. 1232S (now partly closed) forming the generally northern boundary of Allotment 344 in Block I, Opaheke Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to the intersection of the western boundary of that allotment with the right bank of Hays Creek; thence south-westerly generally along the middle of that road and the last middle line produced south-westerly to its junction with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 15356 in Block I, Opaheke Survey District; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of that Lot 3 and Allotments 150, 151, 149, 148, 147, and 146, Opaheke Parish, to and south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that Allotment 146, and the northern end of a closed road, the north-western side of Ohiwa Road and Kaipara Road and continuing along the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 50670 and part Lot 1, D.P. 54045, along a right line across Dominion Road to the northernmost corner of Allotment 16 of Suburban Section 1, Opaheke Parish; thence north-westerly along the south-western side of Dominion Road and the north-eastern boundary of Lot 14, D.P. 61189 (now public road), to and westerly along the northern boundary of the said Lot 14 and the southern side of Clevedon Road, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 17674 in Block XV, Otahuhu Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line across Clevedon Road to and along the south-western boundary of that Lot 3, along a right line across Old Wairoa Road to and along the generally south-western boundaries of Lot 3, D.P. 55480, to the easternmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 55480; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that Lot 2 along a right line across Cosgrave Road, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 31503 and that boundary produced across Grove Road and Lots 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, D.P. 45330 and part Lot 3, D.P. 10784, taken for defence purposes by New Zealand Gazette, 1958, page 1408, to the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 41, Papakura Parish;

Thence north-westerly along that north-eastern boundary to and south-westerly along the north-western boundary of part Lots 3 and 2, D.P. 34792 and continuing along the south-eastern boundaries of part Allotment 41, taken for defence purposes by New Zealand Gazette, 1952, page 1989, and its production across Porchester Road, Lot 2, D.P. 35424, and the North Island Main Trunk Railway to its south-western side; thence north-westerly along the south-western side of that railway to a point in line with the middle of Waterview Road West; thence south-westerly along the middle line of that road to the eastern side of Tironui Road and along a right line to the easternmost corner of Allotment 4, Section 12, Village of Papakura; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of the aforesaid allotment and along a right line across Great South Road to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 2 and 3, D.P. 48861, to the line of mean high water, spring tide, of the Pahurehure Inlet, Manukau Harbour in Block XIV, Otahuhu Survey District; thence north-westerly generally along that line of mean high water, spring tide, of Pahurehure Inlet to the southernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 78842;

Thence northerly generally along the generally western boundaries of that Lot 1, to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 78842, to and south-westerly generally along the generally north-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 89486, to and along the line of mean high water, spring tide, of the Pahurehure Inlet and the Manukau Harbour and its creeks (excluding motorway shown on S.O. Plans 46132 and 46133) to and along the eastern and southern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 66688, in Block XIII, Otahuhu Survey District, to and again along that line of mean high water, spring tide, to and along the generally north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 79266, to and again along that line of mean high water, spring tide (excluding Allotments 484, 483, 482, 481, 480, 479, 478, 477, 474, and 475, Manurewa Parish), to and north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 61064, to and again along that line of mean high water, spring tide, to and along the northern and eastern boundaries of an area of 162 square metres (6.4 perches) shown on S.O. Plan 44513 and taken for drainage purposes by New Zealand Gazette, 1965, page 54, to and again along that line of mean high water, spring tide, to the south-western corner of an area of reclaimed land shown on S.O. Thence north-easterly along a right line to and along the northern side of Portage Road, to and southerly along the middle of the North Island Main Trunk Railway, to and easterly along the line of mean high water of the left bank of the Tamaki River to the north-eastern boundary of Section 37, Block VI, Otahuhu Survey District; thence south-easterly along the said north-eastern boundary, to and southerly along the western boundaries of Lot 240, D.P. 43645, to its southernmost corner; thence westerly along a right line across the aforesaid railway, to and along the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 37930, along a right line across Gray Avenue to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 20337; thence south-westerly generally along the generally north-western boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 5, D.P. 20337, to and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 28 and 29, D.P. 22348 and Lot 1, D.P. 44265, along right lines across Eden Street being along the northern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 44588 (now public street), to and south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 44588 and Lots 11, 12, 13, 14,
