EXPLANATORY NOTE: This exemption notice, which comes into force on 1 January 1985, provides for the exemption, in terms of the ANZCERT Agreement, of certain goods imported from Australia.
This notice replaces two other notices, namely, the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 1) 1985–86 and the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 3) 1985–86, which were to have come into force on that date.
This notice differs from the notices it replaces in that it will not exempt the following goods:
Common salt, not iodised (excluding refined salt, not iodised in packs 4.5 kg or less)
Pure sodium chloride
Fabric in the piece composed of textile fibres or yarns tufted into knitted fabrics exceeding 30 cm in width
Knitted or crocheted fabrics of cotton
Knitted or crocheted fabrics (other than fabric of wool or fine animal hair or of cotton or of man made fibres)
Knitted or crocheted elastic fabric
