1. Title and Commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Controlled Fisheries (Southern Maximum Licence and Boat Authority) Notice 1984.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

2. Maximum number of licences fixed—The maximum number of licences which may be granted by the Fisheries Authority in respect of the Southern Controlled Rock Lobster Fishery is hereby fixed at 219.

3. Maximum number of boat authorities fixed—The maximum number of boat authorities which may be granted by the Fisheries Authority in respect of the Southern Controlled Rock Lobster Fishery is hereby fixed at 238.

State Forest Land Set Apart as a Dedicated Area—Tautuku Ecological Area—Southland Conservancy

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as inserted by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and amended by section 5 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976), the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart and dedicated for the purposes of protection, maintenance, and management of trees and other plants, and for the protection of the natural environment and native wildlife, and for scientific purposes, especially ecological purposes. The area so dedicated will be known as Tautuku Ecological Area.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Tautuku Ecological Area is dedicated for the preservation and protection of an unmodified sequence of forest and bog ecosystems encompassing the Upper Tautuku and Fleming River catchments, and the MacLennan Range tablelands.

Notice of Approval of Bylaws

I, Alexander King Ewing, Controller Marine Administration, pursuant to section 165 of the Harbours Act 1950, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Transport Act 1968, hereby approve the Auckland City Council and Auckland Harbour Board Joint Foreshore Control Bylaws, No. 1, Amendment No. 1, adopted by the Auckland City Council on 18 October 1984, and confirmed by the Auckland Harbour Board on 23 October 1984.
