Amending Determinations by the Minister of Customs Under Section 121 of the Customs Act 1966

PURSUANT to section 121 of the Customs Act 1966, the Minister of Customs hereby amends, in the manner set out in the Schedule hereto, the determinations made under the said section on the 24th day of October 1975, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 13th day of November 1975 at pages 2546, 2547 and 2548 and varied by notices in the New Zealand Gazette on the 1st day of April 1976 at page 710 on the 17th day of March 1977, at page 632, on the 15th day of June 1978, at page 1667 on the 7th day of June 1979, at page 1759 on the 2nd day of April 1980 at page 988 and on 27 August 1981 at page 2381.

SCHEDULE

PART II of the determinations is amended at paragraph 4(c) by adding the words—

“Spoilers/air dams made principally of unhardened vulcanised rubber or artificial plastic materials.”

This variation to the aforesaid determination will take effect on the 1st day of May 1985.

Notice of Marine Mammal Permit Application (Notice No. 3399; Ag. 9/6/16/1)

PURSUANT to section 5(5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the Minister of Fisheries advises that Auckland Lion Safari Park Ltd. have applied for a permit to import and possess three (3) Tasmanian fur seals (Arctocephalus tasmanicus) for display purposes. Submissions regarding this application are hereby called and are to be made in writing within 28 days of publication of this notice.

Standard Grade for the Export of Cherries (Notice No. 3400; Ag. 12/2/14)

THIS notice revokes the Standard Grade for the Export of Cherries Notice 1977 (No. 1628; Ag. 12/2/14) published in the New Zealand Gazette, Thursday, 3 February 1977.

Pursuant to the New Zealand Grown Fruit and Vegetables Regulations 1975*, the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries hereby gives notice that the Standard Grade for the Export of Cherries shall be set out in this notice.

NOTICE

  1. Title—(1) This notice may be cited as the Standard Grade for the Export of Cherries Notice 1984.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Interpretation—Unless the context otherwise requires, terms and expressions used in this notice shall have the same meaning as in the New Zealand Grown Fruit and Vegetables Regulations 1975*. Certain of these terms and expressions as applicable to cherries are defined in the First Schedule to this notice.

  2. Application of Notice—This notice determines the standard grade for the export of cherries from New Zealand.

  3. Title and Grade—The grade mark assigned to this standard grade shall be Class I (hereinafter referred to as “the grade”).

NOTE—Consignments to European markets may have to meet specific OECD grade requirements. Refer to Second Schedule for further information.

  1. Definition of Produce—This grade applies to cherries grown from varieties of Prunus avium (L) and Prunus cerasus (L), to be supplied fresh to the consumer.
