Notice Amending the Conditions for Importing Oranges from the United States of America (Notice No. 3361; Ag. 12/2/12)

PURSUANT to the Introduction and Quarantine of Plants Regulations 1973, the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries hereby amends the Importation of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Notice 1981 (Notice No. 2620, Ag. 12/2/14, New Zealand Gazette, No. 77, 2 July 1981, page 1840) by requiring in addition to the conditions already specified in the said notice in respect of oranges imported from USA that all consignments of oranges grown in the states of California or Arizona be accompanied by an international health certificate endorsed that the fruit is apparently free from bean thrips, Caliothrips fasciatus.

Price Order No. 291—Australian Pears (Packhams)

PURSUANT to the Commerce Act 1975, and in accordance with the provisions of the Price Freeze Regulations 1984, I, Wayne Eric Scanlan, pursuant to a delegation from the Secretary of Trade and Industry, hereby make the following price order:

  1. This order may be cited as Price Order No. 291 and shall come into force on the 26th day of October 1984.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. This order applies with respect to all Australian Packhams Pears, sold by way of retail in New Zealand.

MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES

  1. (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any Australian pears shall be:

$2.65 a kilogram.

(2) If in respect of any lot of pears sold by a retailer the maximum price calculated in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this clause is not an exact number of cents, the maximum price of the lot may be computed to the nearest whole cent.

SPECIAL PRICES WHERE EXTRAORDINARY CHARGES INCURRED

  1. Subject to such conditions, if any, as he thinks fit, the Secretary, on application by any retailer, may authorise special prices in respect of any Australian pears to which this order applies where special circumstances exist, or for any reason extraordinary charges (freight or otherwise) are incurred by the retailer. Any authority given by the Secretary under this clause may apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of pears or may relate generally to all Australian pears to which this order applies sold by the retailer while the approval remains in force.

DUTY IMPOSED ON RETAILERS

  1. Every retailer who offers or exposes any Australian pears for sale in any shop shall keep in a prominent position in such proximity to the pears to which it relates as to be obviously descriptive thereof, a ticket, placard, or label on which shall be stated in legible and prominent characters the following particulars:

(a) The retail price a kilogram.

(b) The words "Australian Packhams Pears".

Price Order No. 292 (North American Red Delicious Apples)

PURSUANT to the Commerce Act 1975, and in accordance with the provisions of the Price Freeze Regulations 1984, I, Wayne Eric Scanlan, pursuant to a delegation from the Secretary of Trade and Industry, hereby make the following price order:

  1. This order may be cited as Price Order No. 292 and shall come into force on the 26th day of October 1984.

  2. (1) Price Order No. 270* is hereby revoked.

(2) The revocation of the said order shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this order.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. This order applies with respect to North American Red Delicious Apples sold by way of retail in New Zealand.

  1. (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any North American Red Delicious Apples shall be:

$2.68 a kilogram.
