NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made for the withdrawal of the following approvals of the Minister of Customs and for the future admission of the goods at substantive rates of duty:

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing to the appropriate office as indicated above on or before 18 October 1984. Submissions should include a reference to the identification reference, application number, Tariff item and description of goods concerned and be supported by information as to:
(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally:
(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported material used in manufacture:
(c) Present and potential output: and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.

Import Restriction on Cut Flowers (Notice No. 3340; AG. 12/2/12)

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Plants Act 1970, the Director-General hereby restricts the introduction into New Zealand of the following cut flowers from the specified regions or countries unless the Director-General is satisfied the importation will not introduce into the country the specified pests and diseases not known to be present in New Zealand.

Cut Flowers Major Region, Country or Place from which Introduction is Restricted Major Reasons for Restriction
Carnation Chrysanthemum Gypsophila North and South American, Europe and Africa Leaf miners, Lirium zo trifolii, L. sativac, L. huidobrensis.
Gladiolus All countries where rust diseases occur, including Mediterranean countries and Africa Rust diseases, Uromyces gladioli, U. uransv r salis.
Roses Japan Rust disease, Keuhneola japonica.

All imports of the above cut flowers shall be subject to prior approval by permit to import issued by the officer-in-charge of the Plant Health and Diagnostic Station at Levin.
