The Government, with profound sorrow, announce the death of Sir (Edward) Denis Blundell, G.C.M.G., G.C.V.O., K.B.E., Q.S.O., Governor-General of New Zealand 1972–1977, at Townsville, Queensland, Australia, on Monday, 24 September 1984, at 7.30 p.m. (N.Z. time).
