Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a burial ground for the common use or benefit of members of the Maori race resident in the district of Moeraki.

PURSUANT to sections 24 and 30 of the New Zealand Railways Corporation Act 1981 and section 50 of the Public Works Act 1981, the General Manager of the New Zealand Railways Corporation with the prior written consent of the Minister of Railways hereby declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby disposed of and vested in the Waitaki Catchment Commission.

The Manukau Technical Institute Notice 1983

PURSUANT to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Manukau Technical Institute Notice 1983.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  2. There shall be a board of governors to be known as the Council of the Manukau Technical Institute which shall control the Manukau Technical Institute.

  3. The Council of the Manukau Technical Institute shall be constituted as follows:

(a) Two members appointed by the Associations of Employers in local industries listed in the First Schedule to this notice;
(b) Two members appointed by the Associations of Employees in local industries listed in the Second Schedule to this notice;
(c) One member appointed by the Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects;
(d) One member appointed by the Auckland Branch of the Institution of Professional Engineers of New Zealand (Inc.);
(e) One member appointed by the Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants;
(f) One member appointed by the South Auckland Medical Officer of Health;
(g) One member appointed by the Manukau City Council;
(h) One member appointed by the Council of the University of Auckland;
(i) One member appointed by the Northern Region of the New Zealand Secondary School Boards’ Association (Inc.);
(j) One member who shall be the Principal of the Manukau Technical Institute and who shall be a permanent appointment to the Council;
(k) One member who shall represent the teaching staff of the Manukau Technical Institute and who shall be elected by the full-time tutors employed by the Council and who shall be a full-time tutor employed by the Council;
