In the above heading published in the New Zealand Gazette, 16 August 1984, No. 143, page 3181 please amend to read “Local Authorities Loans Act 1956”.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Army

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirement of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS

Captain and Quartermaster R. Ballance to be acting Major and Quartermaster with effect from 31 May 1984.

ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY REGIMENT

Major R. G. Beatson is transferred to the Territorial Force with effect from 31 May 1984.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) and Quartermaster Cornelius Patrick Lennon is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in the rank of Captain and Quartermaster with effect from 19 July 1984.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) A. R. Burford is confirmed, with seniority from 1 July 1984.

THE CORPS OF ROYAL N.Z. ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERS

Major and Quartermaster R. Moore is transferred to the Supernumerary List with effect from 29 July 1984.

Captain Alan James Morgan Day, B.SC.(ENG.), is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in his present rank with effect from 1 July 1984.

ROYAL N.Z. DENTAL CORPS

Captain G. P. Bloxham, B.D.S., to be temp. Major with effect from 11 June 1984.

TERRITORIAL FORCE

ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY REGIMENT

5th Battalion (Wellington West Coast and Taranaki), RNZIR

Captain (temp. Major) Rae Lambert Mills, E.D., is posted to the Retired List, in the rank of Major with effect from 1 July 1984.

6th Battalion (Hauraki), RNZIR

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) David John Gettins is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in the rank of Captain with effect from 5 July 1984.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS

1st Field Hospital, RNZAMC

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) Robert James Cameron, M.B., CH.B., is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in the rank of Captain with effect from 17 July 1984.

3rd Field Ambulance, RNZAMC

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) P. A. Hamer, DIP.N., to be Captain with seniority from 15 August 1983 and effect from 5 July 1984.

Auckland University Medical Company, RNZAMC

The following are appointed to commissions in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from 26 February 1984:

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS

1st Supply Company, RNZAOC

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) G. R. Harrison to be Captain with seniority and effect from 4 July 1984.

ROYAL N.Z. DENTAL CORPS

1st Mobile Dental Unit, RNZDC

Captain Brendan Armit O’Dea, B.D.S., is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in his present rank with effect from 23 May 1984.

ROYAL N.Z. NURSING CORPS

Captain Cheryle Stephanie Hart is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in her present rank with effect from 28 March 1984.

Captain Mary Eva Boddington, DIP.N., is transferred to the Army Reserve, Regimental List of Officers, 2nd (GH) Field Hospital, RNZAMC, in her present rank and seniority with effect from 9 July 1984.

Lieutenant Marie Louise Fitzsimons is posted to the Retired List with effect from 4 July 1984.

EXTRA REGIMENTAL EMPLOYMENT

Headquarters Company Land Force Command

Major Raymond Garth Beatson, Royal N.Z. Infantry Regiment, is transferred from the Regular Force in his present rank and seniority, with effect from 31 May 1984.
