Authorising the Construction of the Ohakune-Horopito Deviation
of the North Island Main Trunk Railway

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 20th day
of August 1984
Present:
THE HON. DAVID LANGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 164 of the Public Works Act 1981, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the
construction of the Ohakune-Horopito Deviation of the North Island
Main Trunk Railway as described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
A deviation approximately 8.5 kilometres in length, partly on the
eastern side but generally on the western side of the existing railway
line, leaving the existing line at about 318 kilometres on the railway
metrage and proceeding northward to meet the existing line at about
326.5 kilometres on the railway metrage.
