Direction to Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand in Connection with Private Television Broadcasting
To the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand.
PURSUANT to section 20 (1) of the Broadcasting Act 1976 (as enacted by section 4 (1) of the Broadcasting Amendment Act 1982). I, Jonathan Lucas Hunt, the Minister of Broadcasting,—
(1) Give you notice that it is part of the general policy of the New Zealand Government in relation to broadcasting that no further steps be taken to develop regional private television in New Zealand until I have given to you and to the Broadcasting Tribunal notice of the Government’s general policy in relation to the development of regional private television in New Zealand; and
(2) In pursuance of the general policy of the Government in relation to broadcasting as outlined in clause (1), direct that you shall not comply with the directions given to you, by notice dated the 6th day of July 1984*, by the Minister of Broadcasting in the immediately preceding Government, Ian John Shearer; and
(3) Hereby revoke the notice dated the 6th day of July 1984*, given to you by the Minister of Broadcasting in the immediately preceding Government, Ian John Shearer.

Direction to Broadcasting Tribunal in Connection with Private Television Broadcasting
To the Broadcasting Tribunal.
PURSUANT to section 68 (1) of the Broadcasting Act 1976. I, Jonathan Lucas Hunt, the Minister of Broadcasting,—
(1) Give you notice that it is part of the general policy of the New Zealand Government in relation to broadcasting that no further steps be taken to develop regional private television in New Zealand until I have given to you and to the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand notice of the Government’s general policy in relation to the development of regional private television in New Zealand; and
(2) In pursuance of the general policy of the Government in relation to broadcasting as outlined in clause (1), direct that you shall not comply with the directions given to you, by notice dated the 6th day of July 1984*, by the Minister of Broadcasting in the immediately preceding Government, Ian John Shearer; and
