Consent to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the undersigned
Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to
the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby
consents to the borrowing by the local authorities, mentioned in
the Schedule hereto, of the whole or any part of the respective
amounts specified in the Schedule.

Advertising the Taking of a Census: Section 31 (5) of the Statistics Act 1975

PURSUANT to section 31 (5) of the Statistics Act 1975, notice is
given that a Census of Agriculture (1983/84) which has been
approved by the Minister of Statistics, is being undertaken jointly
by the Department of Statistics and Ministry of Agriculture and
Fisheries and, in respect of section 8 and questions 6.14, 6.15, only
of the questionnaire, the New Zealand Forest Service.

The census will cover:

(i) All individuals or organisations who either actively farmed a
holding, irrespective of size or location, during the year
ended 30 June or who owned or leased a holding which,
while not actively farmed, contained a plantation of exotic
timber trees.

(ii) All individuals or organisations who owned or leased a holding,
which although not used for any farming or forestry
operations during the year ended 30 June, was potentially
usable for such activities.

It is the duty of the person in charge of each holding who has
not received a questionnaire within 21 days after the date of this
advertisement to inform the Government Statistician that such a
holding exists.
