Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing to the appropriate office as indicated by the identification reference on or before 14 July 1983. Submissions should include a reference to the identification reference, application number, Tariff item, and description of goods concerned and be supported by information as to:
(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported material used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 38) 1982
PURSUANT to regulation 17 of the Import Control Regulations 1973*; the Minister of Trade and Industry hereby gives notice as follows:
-
(a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 38) 1982.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the 24th day of June 1983. -
Goods of the classes specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff Items in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

The exemption from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations in respect of the goods of the classes set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, included in the exemption notice shown in the Second Schedule is hereby withdrawn.

Explanatory Note: This notice provides for—
(a) (i) the recontrol of C Zero cassettes, of plastic following their recent reclassification by Customs;
(ii) an amendment to the existing exemption in line with the changes to the Customs Tariff under Customs Tariff Notice No. 28; and
(b) widens the exemption for infants’ feeding bottles to include other articles used for feeding infants.
