Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing to the appropriate office as indicated by the identification reference on or before 9 June 1983. Submissions should include a reference to the identification reference, application number, Tariff item, and description of goods concerned and be supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported material used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.

Notice by Examiner of Commercial Practices of Consent to a Merger and Takeover Proposal

PURSUANT to section 70 of the Commerce Act 1975, notice is hereby given that the Examiner of Commercial Practices has, subject to subsection (9) of that section, consented to the following merger and takeover proposal, being a merger and takeover proposal which also requires consent under the Overseas Investment Act 1973 and the Overseas Investment Regulations 1974*.

Person by or on behalf of whom notice was given in terms of section 68 (1) of the Commerce Act 1975

Dunlop N.Z. Ltd., and Feltex N.Z. Ltd.

Proposal

Dunlop N.Z. Ltd., may acquire the plant and machinery of the Reidrubber tyre manufacturing plant and the fixed assets (excluding land and buildings) of the Feltex Reidrubber retreading and retailing operations.

Consent is subject to conditions relating to non-preferential distribution arrangements.
