FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that area of water at the south-eastern corner of Lake Tekapo, situated in Blocks XIII and XIV, Tekapo Survey District enclosed by a straight line from the northern end of the Church of the Good Shepherd in an 060° T direction to the opposite shore line, and as more particularly shown coloured green and cross hatched in black on plan M.D. 16147 deposited in the office of the Secretary for Transport at Wellington.
SECOND SCHEDULE

All persons in charge of a vessel shall adhere to and keep the provisions of all other Acts and regulations not specifically exempted by this office.

A suitable notice as may be approved by the Regional Marine Officer, Ministry of Transport, Christchurch, shall be erected at the sites deemed necessary by the Regional Marine Officer.

The Water Recreation (Lake Ruataniwha) Notice 1983
I, Beryl Ann Ranger, Senior Executive Officer (Harbours and Foreshores), pursuant to the Water Recreation Regulations 1979* and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Transport Act 1968, hereby give the following notice:
NOTICE
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Lake Ruataniwha) Notice 1983.
(b) This notice shall come into force 14 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the Gazette.
- Subject to the conditions set out in the Fourth Schedule hereto:
(a) Pursuant to regulation 10 of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979 the areas specified in the First Schedule hereto shall be designated as access lanes.
(b) Pursuant to regulation 18 of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979—
(i) The area specified in the Second Schedule hereto shall be reserved for small craft operating at a proper speed of not more that 5 knots at any time.
(ii) The area specified in the Third Schedule hereto shall be reserved for small craft propelled or driven solely by oars, paddles, or the wind.
FIRST SCHEDULE
FIRSTLY, all that area of water within 200 metres of the northern shore of Lake Ruataniwha, situated in Block VI, Strachey Survey District, the eastern boundary of which commences at a point on the lakeshore bearing 293°; distant 670 metres from the Rowing Association Clubhouse; thence out into the lake on a bearing of 136°; the western boundary commencing at a point on the lakeshore 150 metres west of the eastern lakeshore boundary; thence out into the lake on a bearing of 190°; and as more particularly shown coloured yellow and marked 1 on plan M.D. 16146, deposited in the office of the Secretary for Transport, at Wellington.
Secondly, all that area of water within 200 metres of the southern shore of Lake Ruataniwha situated in Block 2, Ohau River Survey District, the southern boundary of which commences at a point on the lakeshore bearing 236°; distant 900 metres from the Rowing Association Clubhouse; thence out into the lake on a bearing of 094°; the northern boundary commencing at a point on the lakeshore 200 metres north of the southern lakeshore boundary; thence out into the lake on a bearing of 350°; and as more particularly shown coloured yellow and marked 2 on the plan M.D. 16146, deposited in the office of the Secretary for Transport at Wellington.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL that area of water near the northern shore of Lake Ruataniwha, situated in Block VI, Strachey Survey District, in the vicinity of the Ruataniwha camp ground, enclosed by the Rowing course lanes; and as more particularly shown edged yellow, coloured red, cross hatched in red and black, and marked 3 on plan M.D. 16146, deposited in the office of the Secretary for Transport at Wellington.
THIRD SCHEDULE
ALL the waters of the Wairepo Arm of Lake Ruataniwha, situated in Blocks 2 and 3, Ohau River Survey District enclosed by the Ohau to Lake Benmore canal; and as more particularly shown coloured green, cross hatched in red, and marked 4 on plan M.D. 16146, deposited in the office of the Secretary for Transport at Wellington.
FOURTH SCHEDULE
- The two access lanes shall be marked as follows:
(a) Two 2.5 metres high transit posts with a distance of not less than 3 metres or more than 6 metres between and painted with 300 millimetre bright orange and black bands erected on land in line with each side of the access lane, and first post being sited at the waters edge.
(b) Where practical, marked buoys, either barrel, drum, or spherical shaped, painted bright yellow, shall be moored 50 metres and 200 metres from the waters edge and in line with each set of transit posts.

The 2 reserved areas shall be marked with suitable notices at points marked A, B, C, and D, on plan M.D. 16146, deposited in the office of the Secretary for Transport at Wellington.

Not withstanding any other provision of this notice, no person who is permitted by any such provision to propel or navigate a small craft at a speed through the water exceeding 5 knots shall do so in any manner that is likely to endanger or unduly annoy any person who is in, on, or using the water, or fishing, or undertaking any recreational activity in the vicinity of the small craft.
