poration of the territorial authority from which the area is excluded.

Chairman and principal administrative officer—The chairman
and principal administrative officer of the Clifton County Council
shall exercise the duties, powers, and functions of the chairman and
principal administrative officer of the Stratford County Council in
respect of the area described in the First Schedule to this order,
and the chairman and principal administrative officer of the Strat-
ford County Council shall exercise the duties, powers, and functions
of the chairman and principal administrative officer of the Clifton
County Council in respect of the area described in the Second
Schedule to this order. -
Creditors—Subject to section 37F of the Local Government
Act 1974, the rights or interests of creditors of any district affected
by this order shall not be affected. -
Rating—The system of rating in the areas described in the
First and Second Schedule to this order shall continue to be the
land value system.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District containing 20.4882
hectares, more or less, being Sections 30, 31, 32, 33, 51, and part
Section 55, Block XIV, Waro Survey District, shown on Survey
Office Plans 11620 and 11770.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District containing 86.6626
hectares, more or less, being parts Section 57 and part Section 56,
Block XIV, Waro Survey District, shown on Survey Office Plans
11769 and 11770.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 7th day of
March 1983
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. D. MACINTYRE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Bay of Islands County Council (hereinafter referred
to as the Council) was required by section 56 (2) of the Local
Government Act 1974 to determine by special order, not later than
the 30th day of September 1982, the boundaries and names of the
ridings of the Bay of Islands County for the purposes of the election
of the Council to be held on the 8th day of October 1983, and the
number of members to be elected to represent each riding: And
whereas the boundaries and names of the ridings for the purposes
of that election and the number of members to be elected to
represent each riding were determined by special order made by
the Council on the 20th day of October 1982 and confirmed by the
Council on the 17th day of November 1982 and were therefore
determined after the time specified in the said section 56 (2):
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 719 of the Local Government
Act 1974 (as enacted by section 2 of the Local Government
Amendment Act 1979), His Excellency the Governor-General,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the
Bay of Islands County Council (Representation Validation) Order
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of
its publication in the Gazette.
- Validation—The boundaries and names of the ridings of the
Bay of Islands County and the number of members to be elected
to represent each riding that were determined by the special order
so confirmed on the 17th day of November 1982 are hereby
declared to be and to always have been validly determined by that
special order, notwithstanding that they were determined after the
time within which they were required, by section 56 (2) of the Local
Government Act 1974, to be determined.

THE RIGHT HON. D. MACINTYRE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Representation Commission, constituted by section
15 of the Electoral Act 1956 in order to provide for the periodical
readjustment of the representation of the people of New Zealand
in the House of Representatives, is required, within 6 months after
the appointment of the Chairman, to report the names and
boundaries of the electoral districts fixed by it to the Governor-General: And whereas the Chairman of the Representation
Commission constituted at the date of this order was appointed by
Order in Council made on the 13th day of September 1982*: And
whereas the Representation Commission has not reported to the
Governor-General: And whereas the Representation Commission
has sought a one month's extension of time: And whereas it is
expedient that the time within which the Representation
Commission is required to report be extended as hereinafter
provided:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 187 of the Electoral Act 1956,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the
following order.
ORDER
- Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the
Representation Commission (Extension of Time) Order 1983.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of
its publication in the Gazette.
- Extension of time—The time within which the Representation
Commission, whose Chairman was appointed on the 13th day of
September 1982, is required, by section 19 of the Electoral Act
1956, to report to the Governor-General the names and boundaries
of the electoral districts fixed by it is hereby extended until the close
of the 13th day of April 1983.

PURSUANT to section 31 of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act
1967, I hereby appoint
Jeffrey William Donaldson
(Livestock Officer, Ranfurly)
being an inspector appointed under Part III of the said Act, as a
member of the Maniototo Pest Destruction Board, vice W. A.
Rendall, transferred.

pursuant to section 19 of the Land Valuation Proceedings Act 1948,
as substituted by section 2 of the Land Valuation Amendment Act
1977
Gerard Putnam Monaghan
District Court Judge of Rotorua, to be a member and Chairman of
the Waikato No. 2 Land Valuation Tribunal, vice Trevor Gilbert
Maxwell, Esquire, District Court Judge, resigned.
