NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made for variation of current approvals of the Minister of Customs as follows:

CURRENT APPROVAL: Valves, peculiar to use for operation by instruments, recording and non-recording, capable of being set to maintain automatically at a pre-determined level, temperature, humidity, liquid level, pressure, or any combination of these conditions; EXCLUDING: (1) All valves having globe pattern body form, offset, in line, angle, barstock or three way design having a body rating of 1300 kPa and above, constructed of iron, steel and stainless steel alloys and fitted with air operated pneumatic actuators or cylinders (2) All valve body assemblies of globe pattern form, offset, in line, angle, barstock or three way design having a body rating of 1030 kPa and above constructed of iron, steel and stainless steel alloys, but not including manual wheel operated or self actuating regulating valves (3) All control valve body assemblies designed for use with pneumatic operators whether or not fitted with air operated pneumatic actuators or cylinders for use with steam, gases and clean liquid (other than containing fibres) services having a rate of 150 lbs and above constructed of iron, steel and stainless steel alloys NOTE: These three exclusions do not cover valves of 75 mm and below nominal size and pressure rating of 1030 kPa and below, air actuated, when declared by importers for use on domestic and air conditioning systems Free Free .. 200589B 5/80

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing to the appropriate office as indicated by the identification reference on or before 31 March 1983. Submissions should include a reference to the identification reference, application number, Tariff item and description of goods concerned and be supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported material used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.
