Tariff Notice No. 1983/236—Applications for Continuation of Approval

NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made to the Minister of Customs for the continuation of the following concessions at the rates of Customs Duty shown:

(2) by an importer that they will be sold by him, only to manufacturers for making trailers or semi-trailers

The identification reference to the application number indicates the office to which any objections should be made.

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing to the appropriate office as indicated by the identification reference on or before 11 January 1984. Submissions should include a reference to the identification reference, application number, Tariff Item, and description of goods concerned and be supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;

(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported material used in manufacture;

(c) Present and potential output; and

(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.

Notice by Examiner of Commercial Practices of Consents to Merger and Takeover Proposals

PURSUANT to section 69 of the Commerce Act 1975, notice is hereby given that the Examiner of Commercial Practices has consented to the following merger and takeover proposals.

Foodstuffs (Wellington) Co-operative Society Ltd. Foodstuffs (Wellington) Co-operative Society Ltd. may acquire the grocery and tobacco stock and plant of Barraud and Abraham Ltd. The consent is subject to the condition that the grocery and tobacco business of Barraud and Abraham in Palmerston North will continue in operation and that all permanent staff be retained 1 December 1983
