PURSUANT to section 20 of the Public Works Act 1981, the Minister of Works and Development declares that, an agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby acquired for irrigation purposes and shall vest in the Crown on the 6th day of October 1983.

Clifton County - Stratford County Boundaries Definition Notice 1983

PURSUANT to section 48 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Secretary for Local Government gives the following notice:

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Clifton County - Stratford County Boundaries Definition Notice 1983.

2. The boundaries of Clifton County and Stratford County are hereby defined as set out in the Schedules hereto, those boundaries having been altered by Order in Council published in the New Zealand Gazette, 17 March 1983, No. 34, page 749 and which came into force on 1 April 1983.

FIRST SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF CLIFTON COUNTY

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in the middle of the mouth of the Mokau River and proceeding easterly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Lot 5, D.P. 3836; thence easterly to and along the southern boundary of the aforesaid part Lot 5, and southerly, easterly, and northerly along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Section 11, Block III, Mokau Survey District, to the south-easternmost corner of Section 10, Block III, aforesaid; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 10, to and northerly generally along the eastern boundary of Section 9, Block III, Mokau Survey District, and its production to the middle of the Mokau River; thence easterly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of the underlying Mokau Mohakatino 1H Block; thence southerly generally to and along the western boundary of that underlying block to Tawhitiraupēka Trig. Station; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Section 7, Block III, Waro Survey District, to the middle of the Mohakatino River; Thence generally south-westerly down the middle of that river to its confluence with an unnamed stream intersecting the Mohakatino Paraninihi 1D East Block; thence up to the middle of the Mangaone Stream nearest the source of the said unnamed stream; thence up to the middle of the Mangaone Stream to the western side of the Mohakatino Road (not legal); thence southerly along the western side of that road to the northern boundary of Section 6, Block VI, Waro Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of that section to its north-western corner; thence southerly generally along the western boundaries of Sections 6, 5, 4, and 10, Block VI, aforesaid, to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 11, Block VI, aforesaid; thence north-westerly along a right line across Mangaora Road to and along that boundary to and northerly along the easternmost boundary of a piece of Crown land (reserved from sale by section 58 of the Land Act 1948) to the southern side of the Mangatawa Stream; thence westerly along that side to and southerly along the eastern side of the Kotare Stream to a point where it meets the western side of Mangaora Road; thence easterly along a right line across Mangaora Road to and along that boundary to and south-easterly generally along the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block VII, Waro Survey District, to the northern side of Kotare Road; thence generally easterly along the northern side of Kotare Road to the middle of a stream near the southern boundary of Section 2, Block VII, Waro Survey District; Thence easterly down the middle of that stream to its confluence with the Waitaanga Stream; thence southerly generally down the middle of that stream and the Tangarakau Stream to the Confiscation Line; thence south-westerly along that line to the northern boundary of Block XVI, Waro Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Blocks XVI and XV, Waro Survey District, and the last-mentioned boundary produced across Section 5, Block XI, Waro Survey District, to the western boundary of the said Section 5; thence southerly generally along that boundary and the western boundaries of Sections 21 and 20, Block X, Waro Survey District, to the northern boundary of Section 19, Block X, aforesaid; thence westerly generally along that boundary and the northern boundaries of Section 18, Block X, aforesaid, and Sections 63 and 56, Block XIV, Waro Survey District, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the western side of the Okau Road; thence southerly along that side to the north-eastern boundary of Section 57, Block XIV, Waro Survey District; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of the said Section 57 to and generally westerly along the northern boundaries of Sections 23 and 9, Block XII, Waro Survey District, to and south-westerly along the north-western boundary of the said Section 9, Rerekapa Road; thence southerly along a right line across Rerekapa Road to and southerly generally along the eastern boundary of Section 3, Block XII, aforesaid, the eastern boundary of Section 22, Block XIII, aforesaid, and again the eastern boundary of the said Section 3, to and along the eastern boundary of Section 11, Block XIII, aforesaid, and the western boundary of Section 4, Block I, Pouatu Survey District, to Moki Road; Thence southerly along a right line across Moki Road to the northern boundary of Section 8, Block I, Pouatu Survey District; thence generally southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 8 to the southernmost corner of the said Section 8, thence along a right line across Section 8, Block V, Pouatu Survey District and Makino North Road to the eastern boundary of Section 7 of the said Block V; thence generally westerly along the southern boundary of part Section 4, Block VIII, Upper Waitara Survey District, to the eastern boundary of part Section 1, Block XII, Upper Waitara Survey District; thence southerly along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Mangaowata Stream; thence westerly generally down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of part Section 3, Block XII, aforesaid; thence southerly generally to and along that boundary to the northern side of the Mangare Road; thence easterly along the northern side of Mangare Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 8, Block XII, Upper Waitara Survey District; thence along a right line across Mangare Road to the eastern boundary of the said Section 8; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of the said Section 8, and Section 2, Block XVI; Upper Waitara Survey District; thence
