Declaration that State Forest Land Ceases to be Part of Victoria State Forest Park—Westland Conservancy

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. D. MACINTYRE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

Pursuant to section 63B (2) of the Forests Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the area of State forest land described in the Schedule hereto, having been set apart as part of Victoria State Forest Park by a Proclamation published in New Zealand Gazette, 1981, page 1420, hereby ceases to be part of Victoria State Forest Park as from the date of publication hereof.

SCHEDULE

NELSON LAND DISTRICT—INANGAHUA COUNTY

Comprising 8.5710 hectares, more or less, being part State forest situated in Block X, Reefton Survey District, being part of the land comprised and described in Gazette of 1959, page 343 (shown marked “A” on S.O. Plan 13279).

Comprising 68.9255 hectares, more or less, being part State forest situated in Block X, Reefton Survey District, being part of the land comprised and described in Gazette of 1959, page 343 (shown marked “B” on S.O. Plan 13279).

As shown on plan L30/5 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.

Warrant of Appointment as Inspector for Kingston to Fairlight Private Railway

Pursuant to section 178 of the Public Works Act 1981, the Minister of Works and Development hereby appoints Ian Henry Colin Brown of Invercargill, retired railways inspector to be the inspector for the Kingston to Fairlight private railway operated by Kingston Flyer Limited.

Appointment of an Inspector

Pursuant to the powers conferred by the Public Works Act 1981, and the Tramways Act 1908, the Minister of Works and Development hereby appoints

Terence Story

of Wellington, civil engineer, to inspect as occasion may from time to time require, the Kelburn Funicular Tramway, and all stations, works, buildings, engines, carriages, and other rolling-stock belonging to it, and to report whether its continued working would be attended with danger to the public or to the persons employed on it by reason of the incompleteness of the works or permanent way or the need of necessary repairs in any part of it or the insufficiency of the establishment for working it.

Appointment of an Analyst

Pursuant to the Food and Drug Act 1969, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

as an analyst for the purposes of the Food and Drug Act 1969.

Cancellation of Appointment and Appointment of a Deputy Member of the Marine Council

Pursuant to section 15A of the Shipping and Seamen Act 1952 (as substituted by section 2 of the Shipping and Seamen Amendment Act 1971) as Minister of Transport, I hereby:

  1. Cancel the appointment of Peter Cook as a deputy member of the Marine Council and

  2. Appoint George William Clucas a deputy member of the Marine Council to represent the Federated Cooks’ and Stewards’ of New Zealand Industrial Union of Workers.

District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 5 of the District Courts Act 1947 and section 21 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1974 and section 5 (1) of the Family Courts Act 1980, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

John David Rabone

to be a District Court Judge to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, the domestic jurisdiction of the District Court and the jurisdiction of the Children and Young Persons Court.
