PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby further amends the Order in Council dated 21 March 1945, published in the Gazette, No. 20, 22 March 1945, at page 305, as amended by the Order in Council dated 15 September 1965, published in the Gazette, No. 58, 7 October 1965, at page 1722, by deleting the Schedule thereto and substituting the following Schedule:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR GENERAL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 8 of the Waitangi Endowment Act 1932–33, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council hereby directs that the land described in the Schedule hereto being Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 shall be subject to the Waitangi Endowment Act 1932–33.

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

Commander (temp. Captain) Lindsay Alexander Walton Urquhart is placed on the Retired List in the rank of Captain, with effect from 31 July 1983.

The appointment of Commander C. T. Grimsdale, DIP. TCHG., is extended to 17 December 1983.

Lieutenant Commander P. J. E. Baldwin to be temp. Commander with effect from 27 June 1983.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander S. W. Mak is extended to 12 October 1991.

The appointment of Lieutenant Lim Yoke Thin is terminated with effect from 30 July 1983.

Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) C. Quincey, M.B.E., to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 6 June 1983.

Lieutenant A. C. S. McNicol, B.E.(MECH.), to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 3 July 1983.

Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) G. Clough to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 2 August 1983.

The appointment of Lieutenant J. E. Dudley is extended to 13 September 1988.

Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) C. L. Campbell to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 11 August 1983.

Lieutenant C. M. Beentjes to be temp. Lieutenant Commander with effect from 1 July 1983.

Lieutenant A. L. Peppercorn to be temp. Lieutenant Commander with effect from 18 July 1983.

The seniority of Lieutenant G. O. Harvey is antedated to 1 August 1980.

The seniority of Lieutenant M. Jacobs, B.E.(MECH.), N.Z.C.E., is antedated to 1 August 1982.

Sub Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) W. J. Tucker, B.E.(MECH.), to be Lieutenant with seniority from 16 July 1982 and effect from 7 July 1983.

Sub Lieutenant P. G. Sullivan to be temp. Lieutenant with effect from 1 July 1983.

Sub Lieutenant John Herring, B.E.(MECH.), is placed on the Emergency List of the RNZN until 26 July 1987, with effect from 27 July 1983.

Sub Lieutenant H. W. Hipango to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 1 August 1983.

Sub Lieutenant R. O. Van der Velde to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 1 August 1983.

Sub Lieutenant (on prob.) L. G. Morley, M.B.E., B.E.M., to be Lieutenant (on prob.) with seniority from 1 January 1983 and effect from 17 June 1983.

The appointments of the following Midshipmen are terminated from the date shown:

Graeme Bary, 15 June 1983.
John Roland Woodall, 9 July 1983.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE

The appointment of Chaplain S. S. Hadlow, L.TH., is extended to 22 December 1983.
