Captain Stanley Matthew Willcox is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 2nd Battalion (Canterbury and Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast), RNZIR in his present rank and seniority with effect from 9 May 1983.

Lieutenant Michael Herbert Rattray resigns his commission with effect from 2 May 1983.

Lieutenant P. C. Clark to be temp. Captain with effect from 21 February 1983.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) M. W. Vicary to be Captain with seniority from 14 February 1983 and effect from 4 May 1983.

Lieutenant A. J. McCaw to be temp. Captain with effect from 15 May 1983.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) E. P. Dean to be Captain with seniority from 8 September 1981 and effect from 11 May 1983.

Lieutenant G. M. Williams: the notice published in the Gazette, 5 August 1982, No. 90, page 2566, is cancelled and the following substituted: 2nd Lieutenant G. M. Williams to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 1 March 1982.

Captain David Murray Thomas is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, in his present rank with effect from 17 August 1981.

Captain Allan Neil MacLean, LL.B., Royal Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, Headquarters N.Z. Land Forces, in his present rank and seniority with effect from 18 May 1983.

Major G. W. H. Vercoe, E.D., Royal Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, is transferred from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Task Force Region with effect from 3 December 1982.

Lieutenant V. T. M. Goodwin, Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals, to be temp. Captain with effect from 1 April 1983.

Ronnie Arthur Burgess is appointed to a commission in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, Royal N.Z. Infantry Regiment, with seniority from 27 February 1983 and effect from 21 May 1983.

Major Melvin James Esson, E.D., Royal N.Z. Infantry Regiment, is posted to the Retired List with effect from 15 March 1981.

Headquarters 3rd Task Force Region

Colonel T. G. Leighs, E.D., Colonels’ List (Territorial Force) to be Brigadier and is transferred to the Brigadiers’ List (Territorial Force), with seniority and effect from 1 June 1983 on assuming the appointment of Territorial Force Advisor to the Army General Staff, vice Brigadier A. T. Mortiboy, M.B.E., E.D., who has retired.

Lieutenant Colonel R. E. Menzies, E.D., Royal N.Z. Infantry Regiment, is transferred from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, Headquarters 3rd Task Force Region in the rank of Colonel and is transferred to the Colonels’ List (Territorial Force) with seniority and effect from 1 June 1983.

PURSUANT to section 58 (9) of the Judicature Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council and with the concurrence of the Chief Justice and the President of the Court of Appeal, has been pleased to appoint

The Right Honourable Sir Clifford Parris Richmond, K.B.E., formerly President of the Court of Appeal,

to act as an additional Judge of the Court of Appeal for a period of one month commencing on the 1st day of August 1983.
