SCHEDULE III
APPROVALS REVOKED

New Zealand Gazette, 1982, page 1657 “LPG Fuel System Approvals”
—Those cylinders manufactured prior to 1 March 1980 and identified in that portion of the Schedule entitled “LPG Fuel Cylinders” and referenced by the MOT Reference numbers AF LO3 062 to AF LO3 072 inclusive.

NOTES: This approval notice upgrades, consolidates and replaces the previous concessional approval issued to certain designs of LPG fuel cylinders imported into New Zealand prior to March 1980.

The effect of this notice is to allow the continued use of LPG fuel cylinders which are known to have been imported into New Zealand prior to the introduction of the Dangerous Goods (Class 2-Gases) Regulations 1980 and which were acceptable under the previous dangerous goods requirements, but whose working pressure rating would disqualify them for approval for general use under the Traffic Regulations 1976. They are approved subject to the additional proviso that they must not be exposed to direct sunlight (to reduce the possibility that solar radiation would raise the temperature of the contents of the cylinder such that the developed pressure of the cylinder contents exceeded the working pressure rating of the cylinder).

The terms of this approval do not allow the continued importation of such LPG fuel cylinders.

Dated at Wellington this 26th day of January 1983.

T. A. LISTER, Senior Automotive Engineer.
