NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL
WESTPACK BANKING CORPORATION BILL 1982

THE Bank of New South Wales hereby gives notice that it intends to apply for leave to bring in the above-mentioned Private Bill during the present session of Parliament.

The objects of the Bill are to provide:

(i) For the transfer to Bank of New South Wales of the undertaking in New Zealand of The Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of New South Wales)

(ii) For the transfer to Bank of New South Wales Savings Bank (N.Z.) Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of New South Wales) of the undertaking of The Commercial Bank Savings Bank (N.Z.) Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of The Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd.):

(iii) For recognition of a change of name of the Bank of New South Wales to Westpac Banking Corporation:

(iv) For the Westpac Banking Corporation to hold at all times in New Zealand assets (other than goodwill) of not less than the value of the total of that Corporation's deposit liabilities in New Zealand:

(v) For other purposes incidental thereto and consequent thereon.

Legislation is the only means by which the above objects of the said Bill can be effected efficiently and economically and without interference with the conduct and continuity of the business of banking in the interests of the said banks, their staff, their customers, and other persons having business with them.

On a day to be appointed, the undertaking in New Zealand of The Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd. will vest in Bank of New South Wales and the undertaking of The Commercial Bank Savings Bank (N.Z.) Ltd. will vest in Bank of New South Wales Savings Bank (N.Z.) Ltd.

Certain specified excluded assets (comprising mainly land and shares in corporations) held by The Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd. or The Commercial Bank Savings Bank (N.Z.) Ltd. otherwise than by way of security and property held by the C.B.A. New Zealand Staff Superannuation Fund are not to vest in Bank of New South Wales or Bank of New South Wales Savings Bank (N.Z.) Ltd.

Customers of The Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd. and The Commercial Bank Savings Bank (N.Z.) Ltd. will have the same relationship with Bank of New South Wales and Bank of New South Wales Savings Bank (N.Z.) Ltd. as they had with The Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd. and The Commercial Bank Savings Bank (N.Z.) Ltd.

The promoter of the Bill is Bank of New South Wales.

A copy of the Bill may be inspected at the offices set out below during normal office hours on any week day (except Saturday and Sunday):

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD

TAKE notice that the Franklin County Council proposes to take under the Public Works Act 1981, the land described in the Schedule to this notice.

The land is required for the construction of a road and it is intended to use the land for road.

A plan of the land intended to be taken is available for inspection at the office of the Council, Manukau Road, Pukekohe during normal office hours (9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.), Monday to Friday.

The reasons why the Franklin County Council considers it essential to take the land are as follows:

The land to be taken is the only area suitable for the realignment of the road.

YOUR RIGHT TO OBJECT

Any person wishing to object must send written objection to the Registrar, Planning Tribunal, Tribunals Division, Justice Department, Private Bag, Postal Centre, Wellington, within 20 working days of that date of this notice.

If an objection is made a public hearing of the objection will be held unless written notice is given to the Tribunal that the objector wants the hearing to be held in private.

If an objection is made:

(a) The objector will be advised the time and place of the hearing; and

(b) Will have the right to appear and to be heard personally or to be represented by a barrister and solicitor or any other person you authorise.

YOUR RIGHT TO COMPENSATION

This notice and the right to object described above, relate to the taking of the land not rights to compensation.

Under the Public Works Act 1981, you are entitled to full compensation if your interest in the land is taken. If this compensation cannot be agreed between you and the Franklin County Council, it can be determined in separate proceedings before the Land Valuation Tribunal.

THIS NOTICE CONCERNS YOUR RIGHTS OVER THE LAND REFERRED TO. IF YOU ARE IN ANY DOUBT ABOUT ITS EFFECT, YOU SHOULD OBTAIN LEGAL ADVICE IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT DELAY.

LAND TO BE TAKEN FOR ROAD

1 rood 37 perches, more or less, being Allotment 127C of the Parish of Opaheke and being formerly a portion of a road duly closed and originally part of Allotment 127, Parish of Opaheke, and being all that land contained and comprised in certificate of title, Volume 650 folio 151, Auckland Land District.

Situated in the County of Franklin off Hunua Road, Papakura.

Dated at Pukekohe this 22nd day of July 1982.
