Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a burial ground for the common use and benefit of members of the Ngati Mamoe and Ngaitahu tribe.

Maori Land Development Notice

Pursuant to section 330 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori Land Board hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Hastings 1982, No. 2.

  2. The land described in the Schedule hereto declared to be subject to Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Insurance Companies Deposits Act 1953, Proposed Release of Deposit

Excess Insurance Company Limited (hereinafter called "the company"), has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on the classes of insurance business in New Zealand designated as Class 1 and Class 4 in the First Schedule to the above-mentioned Act; and that pursuant to Section 19 of such Act proposes to withdraw the deposit which has been made by it with the Public Trustee.

The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 19 (3) of such Act, that being satisfied that all liabilities of the company in New Zealand in respect of such insurance business have been provided for, he proposes to release to the company on or after 13 August 1982 the deposit made by it.

Any objections to the release of the deposit should be lodged with the Public Trustee, Lambton Quay, Wellington, on or before 6 August 1982.

Tobacco Board Election Regulations 1975—Election of Tobacco Growers' Representative for Appointment as a Member of the Tobacco Board

Pursuant to regulation 8 (5) of the Tobacco Board Election Regulations 1975, I hereby declare

Notice Restricting the Importation of Canary Grass and Reed Canary Grass (Notice No. 2852, Ag. 12/2/14)

Pursuant to clause 7 of the notice setting out the requirements for the importation of seeds, stock food and related dried preserved products (New Zealand Gazette, 1980, at page 2073), the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries hereby withdraws his consent to the importation of Canary Grass (Phalaris canariensis) and Reed Canary Grass (Phalaris arundinacea) from all countries for sowing unless he is satisfied that the importation will not introduce seed of the noxious plants known as Johnson Grass (Sorghum halepense) or Columbo Grass (Sorghum almum). All imports of Canary Grass seed and Reed Canary Grass seed shall be subject to prior approval by permit to import issued by the officer-in-charge of the Plant Health and Diagnostic Station at Levin.

Emergency Restriction on Cut Flower Imports (Notice No. 2863, Ag. 12/18/1)

Pursuant to section 6 of the Plants Act 1970, the Director-General hereby restricts the introduction into New Zealand of the following cut flowers from the specified regions or countries, unless the Director-General is satisfied the importations will not introduce into the country the specified pests and diseases not known to be present in New Zealand.
