Tariff Notice No. 1982/68—Applications for Continuation of Approval

NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made to the Minister of Customs for the continuation of the following concessions at the rates of Customs Duty shown:

The identification reference to the application number indicates the office to which any objections should be made.

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing to the appropriate office as indicated by the identification reference on or before 29 April 1982. Submissions should include a reference to the identification reference, application number, Tariff item and description of goods concerned and be supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported material used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.

Tariff Notice No. 1982/69—Withdrawal of Tariff Decisions

NOTICE is hereby given that the following decisions of the Minister of Customs will be withdrawn with effect from 1 July 1982.

ALL DECISIONS UNDER PART I AND PART II OF THE CUSTOMS TARIFF UP TO AND INCLUDING THOSE CONTAINED IN TARIFF DECISION LIST NO. 539 WITHIN CHAPTER 39 AND TARIFF HEADING 59.08 OF THE CUSTOMS TARIFF, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ALL THOSE DECISIONS COVERED BY PART II, REFERENCE 33.0.

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the withdrawal of any decision covered under the above should do so in writing on a form C 69 on or before 28 April 1982. Submissions should be addressed to “The Plastics Concession Review”, care of Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, and must include reference to the concession code under which the goods in question are currently approved.

As the Tariff structure of both Chapter 39 and Tariff Heading 59.08 will be changing as from 1 July 1982, it will also be necessary to obtain the new Tariff Item under which the goods will be classified and this information should also be included in the submissions. Details of the Tariff changes can be obtained from Collectors of Customs.
