Special Conditions

  1. In the Tauranga Harbour no maimai shall be erected that will impede the use of navigable channels and waters of the Harbours.
  2. Maimais erected in the Tauranga Harbour must be dismantled and removed at the close of the season.
  3. Pursuant to the Wildlife Amendment Act 1981 and subject to the conditions of this notice, approval is given for persons to hunt or kill game from unmoored camouflaged rowboats on the estuarine waters of Tauranga Harbour.

Canada goose (Area A—all that area west of State Highway No. 1 excluding the floodbed of the Waitaki River to the Waitaki Dam) 1 May 1982 to 31 October 1982 incl. and 5 February 1983 to 25 March 1983 incl.
(Area B—All that area that lies east of State Highway No. 1, including the floodbed of the Waitaki River) 1 May to 18 July 1982 incl.

Shooting hours: 6.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. except that during the period 1 May 1982 to 25 March 1983 inclusive, Canada goose may be hunted or killed 24 hours per day, during the specified open season.

Decoy limit: Wainono Lagoon: maximum 25; rest of district: no limit.

Special Conditions

  1. No person shall, for the purposes of hunting or killing game, build, or attempt to build, any stand, hide, shelter, maimai, mud-hole, loo, louvre, or position before 9 a.m. on 3 April 1982.

  1. It shall be an offence to hunt or kill game from any unmoored boat on the Turakina River during the first 2 days of the open season for game only, being Saturday 1 May 1982 and Sunday 2 May 1982.
