61.7.2 Handling: Where goods referred to in clause 61.7 are handled by the Corporation the following handling charges shall apply, provided that where cranage charges are incurred the provisions of clause 63.1 shall apply:

61.7.3 Tallying: Where goods referred to in clause 61.7 are tallied at the request of the owners, but not handled by the Corporation, the following charges for tallying will apply except that the Corporation will not undertake to tally timber:

61.8 Conditions

61.8.1 Topping up: The Corporation reserves the right to fill up at its sheds or yards any wagon not loaded to its full carrying capacity consigned to or from a private siding.

61.8.2 Responsibility of private siding holder: Holders of private sidings are held responsible for the safe custody of Corporation property of any kind while in their sidings, and must return such property to the Corporation in the same condition as when placed in the private siding.

61.8.3 Computation: The minimum charge for bogie wagons shall be twice the minimum charge for four wheeled wagons.

62 WEIGHING

62.1 Weighing by Corporation

The Corporation may accept consignor's declared weights for rail freight charging purposes but reserves the right to check weigh. Where the weight is not declared and it is necessary for the Corporation to weigh the traffic for the purpose of calculating the railage charges, no charge will be made for weighing unless the consignor or consignee requests a weight certificate.

62.2 Weighing charges

The charges for each wagon weighed by the Corporation at the request of the consignor, consignee or their agents shall be as follows:

62.2.1 Goods weighed in railway wagons:

Bogie wagons 7.68 each

62.2.2 Multiple weight certificates: When more than one copy of a weight certificate is required by the same person or firm for goods weighed on the Corporation's wagon weighbridges a charge of $1.47 will be made for each certificate in addition to the first.

62.2.3 Other goods weighed: Goods weighed on cart weighbridges shall be charged $2.22 per vehicle. The charges for other goods weighed by the Corporation shall be as follows:

Wool, and sheep skins, in bales $1.47 per bale
Sheep skins in bundles 76 cents per bundle
All other goods (minimum charge 76 cents per package) $1.47 per 100 kilograms

62.3 Weigh at request of customer

62.3.1 Conditions: The Corporation will, at stations where weighing facilities exist, and when reasonably convenient, weigh goods at the special request of consignor or consignee. No liability shall rest on the Corporation for any omission to weigh any goods. Consignors should declare on the consignment note whether they require the goods weighed by the Corporation. The reweighing of goods in truck loads shall be at the option of the Corporation.

62.3.2 Right to decline to weigh: The Corporation may decline to supply weights.

62.3.3 Responsibility of Corporation: In no instance will the Corporation accept responsibility for or guarantee its weighing as between buyer and seller.

63 CRANAGE

63.1 Charges

Except as otherwise provided, cranage charges for the use of the Corporation's cranes, forklifts, and similar mechanical lifting devices shall be as follows:

| Up to 1.5 tonnes per article | Free |
| Exceeding 1.5 tonnes per article | $5.15 per tonne (for unusual lifts see also clause 20.14.2) |

63.2 Haulage of cranes

When the weight of the consignment to be handled is beyond the lifting capacity of a crane at a station and a crane is, at the request of the owner of the goods, hauled from another station, the haulage and hire charges shall be by special arrangement.

63.3 Hire of mobile cranes and forklifts

Where a Corporation mobile lifting appliance is hired for lifts outside the station yard, the following hire charges shall apply:β€”

63.3.1 Capacity up to three tonnes: Lifting capacity up to three tonnes, $42.64 per hour including the wages of the crane driver only.

63.3.2 Capacity three to six tonnes: Lifting capacity over three tonnes but not exceeding six tonnes, $50.90 per hour including the wages of the crane driver only.

63.3.3 Capacity over six tonnes: Lifting capacity over six tonnes but not exceeding ten tonnes, $63.57 per hour including the wages of the crane driver only.

63.3.4 Period of hire: The hire charges shall accrue during the whole period the crane is absent from its headquarters and in every case shall be subject to a minimum hire charge for 30 minutes.
