The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 84
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 47
The number of informal votes was 2
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 38, Local Elections and Polls Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of ratepayers of the Tairua Special Sewerage Loan District taken on 11 February 1982, on the proposal of the Thames-Coromandel District Council to raise a loan of $990,000, to be known as the Tairua Sewerage Loan, for the purpose of providing sewerage reticulation for Tairua with treatment and disposal facilities at Pauanui to serve both areas resulted as follows:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 210
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 283
The number of informal votes was 3
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
