The foregoing rates are at “limited carrier’s risk” and will be reduced by 2 percent where consignors require that the consignment be carried at “owner’s risk”.

  1. Goods Loaded in Containers

This section is hereby revoked and the following new section substituted:

91. Goods Loaded in Containers

  1. (a) Goods conveyed in the following *containers owned by the Railways Department will be charged a rate of 62 cents per tonne in addition to the classified rates applicable to the commodity, based on the net weight of the contents:

Bulk flour

Bulk powder—(e.g. lime flour, pozzalan, salt cake, etc.)

Bulk liquids (including bulk tallow, tall oil, molasses etc.)

(b) Goods conveyed in the Department’s lightweight metal containers will be charged as follows:

(i) On the gross weight of the container and contents at the rail rate appropriate to the goods involved, subject to a minimum charge as for 1 tonne gross weight per container. Where goods classified at Class G are so conveyed, charges will be based on the gross measurement of the container.

(ii) A hire charge of $10.22 per container will be made in addition to normal freight charges.

(c) Demurrage will be charged on each container not discharged by owners and returned to the Department within 16 †working hours (from the time the container is available at destination station for delivery) as follows:
