The Borough of Lawrence (Survey of Electors) Order 1982

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 8th day of November 1982

Present:

WHEREAS, on the 6th day of September 1982 the Returning Officer of the Borough of Lawrence (hereinafter referred to as the Borough) received a request pursuant to section 28 of the Local Government Act 1974 (hereinafter referred to as the Act) for a survey to be taken, pursuant to sections 28 and 29 of the Act, to ascertain the extent of public opposition within the Borough to the proposal for the union of the district of the Borough with the district of the County of Tuapeka: And whereas the survey was required, by section 29 (3) of the Act, to be taken not later than the 25th day of October 1982, the 49th day after the date of receipt of the request for the survey: And whereas the survey was not taken within the time so required by section 29 (3) of the Act: And whereas it is now desired to take the survey on the 19th day of November 1982: And whereas the public notice required by regulation 4 (2) of the Local Government (Survey of Electors) Regulations 1978 (which notice is required to be given not less than 42 clear days before the survey day) was given by the Returning Officer on the 30th day of September 1982 in relation to the proposed taking of the survey on the 19th day of November 1982:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 719 of the Local Government Act 1974 (as enacted by section 2 of the Local Government Amendment Act 1979), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

O R D E R

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Borough of Lawrence (Survey of Electors) Order 1982. (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  2. Extension of time for taking survey—The time for taking the survey of electors required to be taken in the Borough following the receipt by the Returning Officer on the 6th day of September 1982 of a request for a survey, pursuant to sections 28 and 29 of the Act, to ascertain the extent of public opposition within the Borough to the proposal for the union of the district of the Borough with the district of the County of Tuapeka, is hereby extended until 5 o'clock in the afternoon of the 19th day of November 1982.

PURSUANT to section 59 of the Defence Act 1971, the Minister of Defence hereby approves the following appointments, promotions, extensions, relinquishments, resignations, compulsory retirement, discharges, cancellation of commissions, transfer of officers of the New Zealand Cadet Forces.

SEA CADET CORPS

APPOINTMENTS

Yvonne Catherine Rose is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 9 July 1982, seniority 26 March 1982.

John William Macey is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 16 July 1982, seniority 29 June 1982.

Wayne Geoffrey Turner is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 15 July 1982, seniority 30 June 1982.

Peter Warren Rowell is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 20 July 1982, seniority 20 July 1982.

Lieutenant Ian Stockburn Grey’s cadet commission is reactivated with effect from 10 August 1982, seniority 10 April 1979.

Judith Christine Sims is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 8 September 1982, seniority 10 August 1982.

Stewart Thomas Robinson is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 13 September 1982, seniority 3 September 1982.

Sean William Jackman is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 13 September 1982, seniority 20 August 1982.

Grant Brian Roger Morgan is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 13 September 1982, seniority 20 August 1982.

Lyncte Ann Edwards is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 27 August 1982, seniority 27 August 1982.

Nigel Bruce Craik is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Ensign on probation with effect from 30 August 1982, seniority 1 January 1982.

PROMOTIONS

The following officers are promoted to the rank and with seniority from the dates shown:

Ensign M. B. Jacobs, Sub Lieutenant, 6 August 1982.

EXTENSIONS

The following officers have been granted extensions to their Cadet Forces Commission until the date shown:

Sub Lieutenant W. G. Bustard, 28 August 1985.

Lieutenant R. A. Taylor, 26 May 1985.

RETIREMENT

The following officers are compulsorily retired with effect from the dates shown:

Lieutenant B. E. Dorsey, 20 July 1982.

Ensign J. H. J. Boers, 22 July 1982.

Lieutenant M. Sinclair, 5 July 1982.

Second Lieutenant M. J. Ashby, 5 August 1982.

Ensign C. V. Challis, 31 August 1982.

RESIGNATIONS

The following officer has resigned his Cadet Force Commission and is discharged with effect from the date shown:

Lieutenant G. G. Bond, 12 October 1982.

TRANSFER TO/FROM SUPER LIST

Sub Lieutenant P. J. Shannon is transferred to the Supernumerary List from TS Diomede with effect from 13 July 1982 for a period of 12 months.

TRANSFERS

Ensign L. A. Powell is transferred from TS Achilles to TS Gambia with effect from 5 July 1982.

Second Lieutenant S. A. Punter is transferred from TS Achilles to TS Rangitiri with effect from 18 October 1982.

Peter Marcel Verstappen is appointed to a cadet commission in the rank of Second Lieutenant with effect from 29 September 1982, seniority 10 August 1982.
