Notice by Examiner of Commercial Practices of Consent to a Merger and Takeover Proposal
PURSUANT to section 70 of the Commerce Act 1975, notice is hereby given that the Examiner of Commercial Practices has, subject to subsection (9) of that section, consented to the following merger and takeover proposal, being a merger and takeover proposal which also requires consent under the Overseas Investment Act 1973, and the Overseas Investment Regulations 1974*.

Dalgety New Zealand Ltd., The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-operative Association Ltd.
Proposal
Jazem Investments Ltd., to be renamed HBF – Dalgety Ltd., may acquire the stock and station business of The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-operative Association Ltd. and the Hawke’s Bay and Poverty Bay stock and station sections of Dalgety New Zealand Ltd.
“This approval is subject to conditions in the independent and competitive trading operation of Hawke’s Bay Farmers – Dalgety Ltd.”
