This draft closely follows Australian Standard AS 1181: 1962, Method of measurement of civil engineering works and associated building works. Several sections of the Australian Standard are appropriately covered under NZS 4202, Methods of measurement of building works, and have therefore been omitted. Practice for measurement of civil engineering works is defined.

Where building trades form more than a minor proportion of the works, it is recommended that their measurement conforms to NZS 4202.

All persons who may be affected by this publication and who desire to comment thereon, may obtain copies at the price shown, from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 15-23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

Note—Payment must accompany all requests for drafts.

The closing date for receipt of comment is 26 November 1982.

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of this application should do so in writing to the appropriate office as indicated by the identification reference on or before 23 September 1982. Submissions should include a reference to the identification reference, application number, Tariff item and description of goods concerned and be supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;

(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported material used in manufacture;

(c) Present and potential output; and

(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.
