Notice is hereby given that the Blackball District Coal Miners’ Medical Club, Register No. 401, held at Blackball, is dissolved by instrument, registered at this office the 12th day of August 1981, unless within 3 months from the date of the Gazette in which the advertisement appears, proceedings be commenced by a member or other person interested in or having a claim on the funds of the society to set aside such dissolution, and the same be set aside accordingly.

Pursuant to regulation 15 of the Wool Industry Regulations 1978, notice is hereby given that the Adjusted Weighted Average Sale Price for the sale held on 7 August at Napier was 266.93 cents per kilogram (greasy basis).

As this price is below the Government’s supplementary minimum wool price of 320 cents per kilogram (greasy basis) the specified percentage for supplementation will be 19.90 percent for all wool sold at auction and nationally for privately sold wool from and including the 7th day of August 1981 until midnight on the day before the next auction sale to be held.

On 8 August 1979 the Abbotsford landslip disaster occurred involving the movement of 18 hectares of land and 69 houses. As the immediate shock receded many complaints arising from the disaster were made. The outcome was the appointment of a commission to inquire into the situation and to report on the various matters comprised in the term of reference.
