National Roads Board: Notice Partially Revoking Declaration of State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

REFERRING to State Highway No. 1, Paraparaumu to Paekakariki as more particularly shown on sheet 1 of plan LAS2/5/7 and accompanying Schedule held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Porirua, and there available for public inspection, it is notified that the National Roads Board by resolution dated 17 June 1981 and pursuant to subsection 5 of section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby revokes its resolution dated 19 September 1979* made pursuant to the said section 4 insofar as it affects that part of the limited access road declaration for one half of its width on the southern side commencing 113 metres east of the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 47726, and extending eastwards for 12 metres across the frontage of part Lot 3, D.P. 4269 (C.T. 18D/457).

Waiotapu Recreational Hunting Area

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Wild Animal Control Act 1977, the Director-General of Forests hereby gives notice that the area of land being approximately 4700 hectares of the Waiotapu subdivision of Kaingaroa State Forest which includes all of compartments 1 to 36, 1015 to 1018, part of 1037, 1038 and 1039, being more particularly shown on plan U16/2, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service, Wellington and with the Conservator of Forests, Rotorua, shall form a recreational hunting area where the hunting of sambar deer and red deer as a means of recreation shall be used to control (though not exclusively) the number of those animals.

The area shall be known as the Waiotapu Recreational Hunting Area.

The following are the conditions under which the area may be used by the public.

CONDITIONS

  1. No commercial hunting is allowed, except for the taking of possums under Forest Service permit, or on the direction of the Conservator of Forests.

  2. This is an exotic forest and care should be taken to prevent fire. Fires may only be lit by a permit which must be obtained from the Officer-in-Charge of the forest.

During summer months a total ban may be placed on all fire lighting and people should be aware of the possibility and check with the forest office.

The extent and location of any wild fire is to be reported immediately to a forest officer.

Amendments to the Rules of the Royal Society of New Zealand

PURSUANT to the Royal Society of New Zealand Act 1965, the Fellows of the Royal Society of New Zealand, at the annual general meeting held on 20 May 1981, passed resolutions amending the rules of the society published in the New Zealand Gazette on 22 December 1965, the effect of such resolutions being:

Section G. Property and Accounts: An addition to read: G8. In order to facilitate the payment of small claims, petty cash and imprest account advances may be authorised by council to the executive officer and the librarian. The nature and limits of these advances shall be determined from time to time by council.


Section I. The Encouragement of Research. JIV2. The T. K. Sidey Summertime Fund. Amend to read: The Council shall give not less than 6 months’ previous notice by means of the society’s newsletter or any other method deemed appropriate by the council, of its intention to consider the making of any award from the fund and the date by which applications for the award are to be received.
