National Development Act 1979—Environmental Impact Report Notified—Proposed Aluminium Smelter at Aramoana, Otago Harbour
The provisions of the National Development Act 1979, have been applied to a proposal by South Pacific Aluminium Ltd. to construct and operate a primary aluminium production plant at Aramoana. An Environmental Impact Report has been forwarded to me for audit. I give notice under section 5 of the Act that I have made the following arrangements for public inspection and sale of the report.

Copies of the report are available for inspection as set out in the Schedule below.

Copies of the report may be purchased by presenting $5 at the following prices:
Wellington: Commission for the Environment Office, CPD House, 108 The Terrace;
Dunedin: Department of Lands and Survey, Sixth Floor, John Wycliffe House, Princes Street;
Port Chalmers: Port Chalmers Borough, Municipal Offices, 20 Beach Street;
Mosgiel: Silverpeaks County Council Offices, 20 Gordon Road and 209 Main Road, Waikouaiti.
In accordance with sections 5 of the Act, submissions in writing on the Environmental Impact Report are invited. These should reach the Commission no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 1 September 1981. Any submission may be reproduced in whole or in part in the audit. It is requested that these by typed or written in dark legible script on A4 size paper.

Dunedin region libraries as follows: Dunedin City, Milton, Mosgiel, Palmerston, Port Chalmers, St. Kilda, Waikouaiti, Waitati.

(a) Dunedin: Department of Lands and Survey, Dunedin City Council Municipal Chambers Office, Emergency and Citizens Advice Service, Moray Place Environment Centre, Otago Harbour Board (Birch Street Office).
(b) Port Chalmers Post Office; Port Chalmers Borough Council Office; Sawyers Bay Post Office; Careys Bay Store, Mr Garry Holden’s home, Te Ngaru; Mr Gordon Johnston’s home, Aramoana Road.
(c) Macandrew Bay Post Office, Portobello Post Office.
(d) Silverpeaks County Council offices at Mosgiel and Waikouaiti, St Kilda Borough Office, Green Island Borough Office.
