PURSUANT to section 69 of the Commerce Act 1975, the Examiner of Commercial Practices hereby gives notice of the following merger and takeover proposal to which he has consented

Ballins Industries Ltd.

Proposal

That Lion Breweries Ltd., may lease from Ballins Industries Ltd., 24 hotels and taverns, these hotels and taverns then to be sub-leased to Inns of Canterbury, a company jointly owned by Lion Breweries and Ballins, which company will manage and operate the hotels and taverns.
