Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

Captain D. B. Dornett to be Acting Commodore, with effect from 16 March 1981, then to be Commodore with seniority and effect from 22 March 1981.

Commander (temp. Captain) Tom Alexander Riddell, O.B.E., is placed on the Retired List of the RNZN, with effect from 12 January 1981.

Commander John Munford Coleman, is placed on the Retired List, with effect from 14 January 1981.

Lieutenant Commander John Keith Carter, N.Z.C.E.(MECH.), R.E.A., A.M.I.M.A.R.E., is placed on the Emergency List of the RNZN until 1 February 1983, with effect from 2 February 1981.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander T. J. E. Marsh is extended to 23 May 1984.

Lieutenant Michael James O’Shea, is placed on the Emergency List of the RNZN until 2 January 1985, with effect from 3 January 1981.
