Land Taken for Soil Conservation and River Control Purposes
in the County of Rangitikei and the County of Manawatu

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, The Honourable Sir David Stuart Beattie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for soil conservation and river control purposes, and shall vest in the Rangitikei-Wanganui Catchment Board as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 30th day of April 1981.

THE RIGHT HON. D. S. THOMSON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the National Roads Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby appoints:
Frederick Alexander Langbein, Esquire, an officer of the Ministry of Works and Development;
Arthur John Healy, Esquire, an officer of the Ministry of Transport;
Charles Erskine Bowmar, Esquire, of Gore, farmer, nominated by the New Zealand Counties Association Incorporated;
Thomas Frederick Llewellyn Ward, Esquire, of Tangiteroria, and solicitor, nominated by the Municipal Association of New Zealand Incorporated, as representing those boroughs having a population of 20000 or more;
John Samuel Thorn, Esquire, of Port Chalmers, company director, nominated by the Municipal Association of New Zealand Incorporated, as representing those boroughs having a population of less than 20000 and town districts;
William Wallace Knox, Esquire, of Balclutha, company secretary/manager, to represent the interests of persons being the owners of commercial motor vehicles; and
Francis Graham Milne Parkinson, Esquire, of Palmerston North, company secretary, to represent the interests of persons being owners of private motor vehicles;
