  1. The Commission invites parties who have an interest in any of the areas covered by the above reference to register that interest in writing with the Commission not later than 7 May 1981.

  2. Registration should include the following:
    (a) Name and address of party registering interest.
    (b) Area or areas of interest.
    (c) Status of interest under one or more of the following classes:
    New Zealand manufacturer of goods under reference;
    New Zealand manufacturer using goods under reference;
    Overseas manufacturer;
    Importer;
    Raw material supplier;
    Trade organisation;
    Trade union;
    Other (specify).

  3. The Commission will, as soon as possible after 7 May, distribute to registered parties copies of detailed guidelines for submissions and advise the timetable and procedures it intends to follow in undertaking this study.

  4. It is anticipated that these procedures will involve the preparation and public distribution of a draft report based on the submissions received in response to guideline questionnaires. This draft report will then be the subject of a public hearing following which the Commission will prepare its final report.

SCHEDULE
(i) Tariff Heading 98.03 “Fountain pens, stylograph pens and pencils (including ballpoint pens and pencils) and other pens, pen holders, pencil holders and similar holders, propelling pencils and sliding pencils; parts and fittings thereof, other than those falling within heading No. 98.04 or 98.05.”
(ii) Tariff Heading 98.04 “Pen nibs and nib points.”
(iii) Tariff Heading 98.05 “Pencils (other than pencils of heading No. 98.03), pencil leads, slate pencils, crayons and pastels, drawing charcoals and writing and drawing chalks; tailors’ and billiards chalks.”

The Standards Act 1965—Draft Amendment to New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

Number and Description of Draft
DZ 6206/A1 Amendment No. 1 to NZS 6206:1980 Domestic electric meter boxes.

Certification mark licensing to this standard has presented unforeseen problems. This amendment provides a more practical test method for flammability, to replace the existing reference to NZS 216:1949.

All persons who may be affected by this amendment and who desire to comment thereon may obtain copies from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 15-23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 28 May 1981.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft Amendment to New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

Number and Description of Draft
DZ 8403/A4 Draft Amendment No. 4 to NZS 8403:1973 Grades of meat and definitions of cuts of meat for sale on the New Zealand market.

Amendment No. 4 makes provision for new cuts of pork which have become available as a result of the introduction of trim-pork.

All persons who may be affected by this amendment and who desire to comment thereon may obtain copies from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 15-23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 28 May 1981.
