Appointments to the Privy Council
His Excellency The Governor-General has released the following statement:
An announcement has been made by the Office of the British Prime Minister, 10 Downing Street, London, that The Queen has been pleased to approve that the following be appointed Members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council:
The Honourable David Spence THOMSON, M.C., E.D., M.P., Minister of State, Leader of the House of Representatives, Minister of State Services, and Minister of Defence;
The Honourable Mr Justice (Edward Jonathan) SOMERS, a Judge of the New Zealand Court of Appeal.
