Tariff Notice No. 1981/220—Applications for Withdrawal of Approval

Notice is hereby given that applications have been made for the withdrawal of the following approvals of the Minister of Customs and for the future admission of the goods at substantive rates of duty:

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing to the appropriate office as indicated by the identification reference on or before 7 January 1981. Submissions should include a reference to the identification reference, application number, Tariff item and description of goods concerned and be supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported material used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.

Notice by Examiner of Commercial Practices of Consent to a Merger and Takeover Proposal

PURSUANT to section 69 of the Commerce Act 1975, the Examiner of Commercial Practices hereby gives notice of the following merger and takeover proposal to which he has consented.

Person by or on behalf of whom notice was given in terms of section 68 (1) of the Commerce Act 1975.
Government Life

Proposal
That Government Life purchase 50 percent of the capital of Southern Cross Hotel (DN) Ltd.

PURSUANT to section 69 of the Commerce Act 1975, the Examiner of Commercial Practices hereby gives notice of the following merger and takeover proposal to which he has consented.

Proposal
Henderson and Pollard Ltd., may acquire more than 50 percent of the issued capital of Westland Enterprises Ltd., and all the share capitals of Dominion Projects Ltd., New Zealand Veneers Ltd., and Veneer Processors New Zealand Ltd.
