ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Waimate County, containing 71 300 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Waitaki and Hakataramea Rivers and proceeding north-easterly generally up the middle of the Hakataramea River to its confluence with Peter Stream in Block V, Nimrod Survey District; thence north-easterly up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Run 347 and continuing north-easterly to and along that boundary to the northernmost corner of the said Run; thence south-easterly generally along the north-eastern boundaries of Runs 347 and 47A and the eastern and southern boundaries of Run 47B to the summit of the Hunter Hills; thence southerly along that boundary and its production to the middle of the North Branch of the Waihao River; thence north-westerly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4080; thence south-westerly generally to and along that boundary and the generally south-eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 4082 and its production to the middle of Pentland Hills Road; thence westerly to and along that roadside to the south-eastern boundary of Run 283; thence south-westerly generally along the generally south-eastern boundaries of Runs 283 and 321 to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 3451; thence south-easterly along that boundary and its production to the south-western side of the road forming the north-eastern boundary of that lot, thence south-easterly along that roadside to the easternmost corner of the said Lot 3; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 3, D.P. 3451 and part Lot 4, D.P. 3452 to the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block V, Elephant Hill Survey District; thence south-easterly generally along the south-western boundaries of the said Section 1 and Section 1, Block VI, Elephant Hill Survey District to the north-western boundary of Rural Section 27557; thence south-westerly along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Waitaki River; thence north-westerly up the middle of the said River to the point of commencement.
WAITAKI WARD
ALL that area in the Otago and Canterbury Land Districts, Waitaki and Waimate Counties, containing 78 000 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Run 2 of 23, Block IX, Kurow Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly along the south-western boundary of part Run 362B, Mount Buster Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of part Run 362B, aforesaid and its production to the middle of Hut Creek to its confluence with Guffies Creek; thence westerly down the middle of Guffies Creek to its confluence with the Otematata River; thence generally northerly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Run 243E, Mount Buster Survey District; thence generally westerly to and along the southern boundary of part Run 243E, aforesaid and its confluence with the Otematata River; thence generally north-easterly down the middle of the Otematata River to its confluence with the Waitaki River; thence northerly up the middle of the old bed of the Waitaki River to the junction of the Waimate and Mackenzie County boundaries; thence south-easterly along a right line to the north-western corner of part Run 67; thence generally easterly along the northern boundary of the said Run to the north-western corner of part Run 282; thence generally easterly, southerly and westerly along the generally northern, eastern and southern boundaries of part Run 282 to a fence on the western side of Trig AA in Block I, Hakataramea Survey District; thence generally south-easterly along the fence and the generally north-eastern boundary of Lease Number 10115 Canterbury Registry to the south-eastern boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 2739; thence generally southerly along the last-mentioned boundary to the eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 2739; thence generally southerly along the eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 2739, the north-eastern boundaries of rural Section 35961 and rural Section 29561, the northern and eastern boundaries of rural Section 11442, the eastern and southern boundaries of rural Section 12270 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Waitaki River; thence north-westerly up the middle of that river to its confluence with the Awakino River, thence south-westerly up the middle of Awakino River to a point due north of the western boundary of Section 7, Block IV, Kurow Survey District; thence due south to and along the last-mentioned boundary and its production to the northern boundary of Run 2 of 23, Block X, Kurow Survey District; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Run 2 of 23 including three crossings of an unnamed road to the point of commencement.
OTEKAIEKE WARD
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Waitaki County, containing 54 000 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Mount Domat, being the southernmost corner of Section 30, Block VIII, Kurow Survey District and proceeding north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of part Run 574 (10279.0153 hectares), Mount Buster Survey District, to the westernmost corner of Run 2 of 23, Block IX, Kurow Survey District; thence generally north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Run 2 of 23 aforesaid including three crossings of an unnamed road to a point due south of the western boundary of Section 7, Block IV, Kurow Survey District; thence due north to and along the western boundary of Section 7 aforesaid, and its production to the middle of the Awakino River; thence north-easterly down the middle of the Awakino River to its confluence with the Waitaki River; thence south-easterly down the middle of the Maerewhenua River to a point due south of the eastern boundary of Lot 7, Block II, Deposited Plan 218, situated in Block IV, Maerewhenua Survey District; thence due south to the northern boundary of part Section 34, Maerewhenua Settlement, situated in Block IV, Maerewhenua Survey District; thence generally easterly along the northern boundaries of part Sections 34, 114 and 109, Maerewhenua Settlement aforesaid and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the southern side of the Livingstone-Dunroon Road; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern side of that road to the northernmost corner of Section 28, Block VII, Maerewhenua Survey District; thence westerly by a rightline to and along the northern side of Danseys Pass Road to the middle of the South Branch of the Maerewhenua River; thence generally south-westerly up the middle of that river to a point due south of the eastern boundary of Section 6, Block XVI, Maerewhenua Survey District; thence due north to the southern corner of the said Section 6; thence generally south-westerly along the southern boundary of that section to its western boundary; thence northerly along the last-mentioned boundary to Trig DD, Maerewhenua Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of part Section 2, Block II, Kakanui Survey District and Section 2, Block XIV, Kyeburn Survey District to the southernmost corner of Section 1, Block XIII, Kyeburn Survey District; thence south-westerly along the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block XIII aforesaid; thence south-westerly along the production of the last-mentioned north-western boundary to Mount Nobbler; thence generally northerly along the western boundary of Run 510, Kyeburn Survey District and including five crossings of an unnamed summit road to and across Danseys Pass Road to the western boundary of Domat Survey District; thence generally northerly along the Survey District boundary to Trig Y, Block IX, Domat Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Runs 28F and 28A, situated in Domat Survey District, to the point of commencement.

Consent to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the under-signed Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities, mentioned in the Schedule hereto, of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
